ibau
ibau is a German construction-industry intelligence platform. The ibau integration imports its project data directly into Baucore/Salesforce, so a project a rep would otherwise have to find and enter by hand shows up as a searchable, syncable record instead. It’s one of two external data providers Baucore ships with today — the other is Barbour ABI, covering the UK market — and both plug into the same underlying provider architecture described in External Data Providers.
This page is the overview; setup is in ibau Setup, and licensing/subscription detail is in ibau Subscription.
What you get
- Search ibau’s project database by address, city, street, ibau ID, or comma-separated multi-zip search, from a dedicated app page.
- Map view directly on search results.
- Company Card showing contacts for a matched company.
- Projects related to an Account show up directly on that Account’s or Lead’s Lightning record page.
- Clicking a project on the map surfaces additional project detail inline.
Sync behavior
- Auto-sync: when a project or Account is synced, participants are added automatically if their ibau role is already mapped to a Baucore role. If a role isn’t mapped yet, the user is prompted to map it.
- Manual sync is non-destructive: it will not overwrite a field that isn’t part of that specific field mapping.
- Syncing an ibau-linked Account when a matching Project already exists in Salesforce also adds any newly-synced participant to that Project — not just the Account.
Contacts sync too
Contact IbauId fields on both Contact and Lead let ibau-side contacts sync the same way projects do, with dedicated mapping tabs (Contact → Contact, Contact → Lead) in ibau Setup and one-click autosync from the Company Card’s Contacts tab. Matching uses Salesforce’s own Duplicate Rules, so your existing dedup configuration applies here too.
Country and address format
ibau requires ISO code values (not free text) for Account, Contact, and Lead address fields — but for Project and Project Lead address fields, Baucore still uses plain text (it doesn’t use the standard Salesforce address fields there). Configure the ISO mapping in Custom Metadata → Baucore Country Mapping.
As of V8.8359, a Person picklist value (Label: Person, API Name: Person) must be added manually to Setup → Object Manager → Prov Field Mapping → Type. This is a mandatory post-upgrade step for orgs using ibau — it is not applied automatically by the package installer.
