Automate Project Status Check
Project Status runs on a traffic-light system — 🟢 Green, 🟡 Yellow, 🔴 Red — evaluated per Project Phase against the rules you define in Project Status Settings. By default that evaluation runs on demand. This page covers turning on the scheduled version so status recalculates automatically as project data changes, without a rep needing to open the record.
How the evaluation works
ProjectStatus_Service reads every active Project_status_setting__c rule, groups them by Project Phase, and — for each project — evaluates only the fields referenced by the rules for its current phase against the configured Yellow and Red thresholds. The result is written to Project_status__c records, and the overall Project Status field is the worst of all the individual indicators:
- Any indicator Red → overall status Red.
- Any indicator Yellow (and none Red) → overall status Yellow.
- All Green → overall status Green.
Turn on automatic checking
- Enable
Autocheck Project Status(Autocheck_Project_status__c) on the Projects that should be checked automatically — either individually or via a bulk update/flow. - Go to Setup → Apex Classes → Schedule Apex and schedule
ProjectStatusAutoCheckScheduler(daily is the typical cadence). - Optionally control how many projects are processed per run via the
CountAutoProjeckey in Baucore Settings — the scheduler is a self-chaining Queueable (ProjectAutoCheck), so it keeps processing in batches until every due project has been checked.

Disabling it
- Custom Metadata → Baucore Settings → Disable project status — turns off the traffic-light system entirely.
- Custom Metadata → Baucore Settings → StopProjectAutoCheck — stops the scheduled job from running without disabling manual/on-demand checks.
This only automates when status is recalculated — the rules themselves (which fields, which thresholds, which recommendation) are still defined manually per Project Phase in Baucore Admin → Project Status Settings.
