Set Up Baucore Agents Field Mapping
Field Mapping is a core configuration in Baucore Agents that controls how external provider data maps to Salesforce fields. For Project Watch, these mappings define which incoming values are compared with Salesforce data — and therefore which suggestions are created.
Where to configure it
- Open the Watchlist Lightning App.
- Open the Baucore Setup tab.
- In the left navigation, click Baucore Agents.
- Open the Field Mapping tab.
Project Watch uses the provider field mapping records resolved by the watchlist integration at runtime. In this package version, Project Watch reads its project mappings from the provider value baucoreInbox. If those provider mappings are missing or incomplete, the watchlist cannot compare the expected fields or create the expected suggestions.

Mapping row fields

| Target Field | The Salesforce field to update when a suggestion is accepted or auto-applied. |
| Provider Field | The field name received from the external provider. |
| Automatic update on empty field | Auto-applies the value when the Salesforce field is blank and the watchlist logic supports automatic fill. |
| Always overwrite value on update | Always replaces the existing Salesforce value. Use only for fields where the provider is authoritative. |
| Notify on Chatter | Includes the field in Chatter notifications when new suggestions are generated. |
Adding or editing a mapping
- Select the relevant object sub-tab.
- Create a new row or edit an existing row.
- Choose the Target Field.
- Choose the matching Provider Field.
- Set the behavior flags deliberately.
- Save the changes.
How these flags affect Project Watch
- If a mapped value differs from Salesforce, the watchlist can create a pending suggestion.
- If Automatic update on empty field is enabled and the Salesforce field is blank, the value can be applied automatically.
- If Always overwrite value on update is enabled, the current value can be replaced without manual review.
- If Notify on Chatter is enabled, the field can be included in consolidated Chatter notifications for the project.
Reset mapping
Use Reset mapping to restore the package defaults when starting fresh, after a package upgrade, or when mappings have become inconsistent.
- Open Baucore Setup → Baucore Agents → Field Mapping.
- Click Reset mapping.
- Wait for the confirmation message.
- Open Platform Cache Management.
- Clear the cache.
Any mapping change requires a Platform Cache clear to take effect. This includes new rows, edits, and resets.
Best practices
- Start with the default mappings and only customize where there is a clear business need.
- Use Always overwrite sparingly.
- Enable automatic update only for fields where blank-value population is safe.
- Use Chatter notifications for fields that need visibility by a wider team.
- Re-check the mappings after every package upgrade.
- Confirm that the provider value used by Project Watch remains present and active.
