Handle Inquiry to create a Quote
Taskuser
The Inquiry to Quote process is a Flow that can be started from a Project, from an Inquiry, or from a Bill of Quantity (BOQ). Baucore ships standard Quick Action buttons for the Flow on the page layout of each of these objects.
Steps, starting from a Project record
- Select the Account requesting the quote — current Participants of the Project are shown in the selection list. If the Account isn’t a Participant yet, press New to select it directly.
- Select the Account’s Role — it will automatically be created as a Participant of the Project.
- Give the Inquiry a name. The flow suggests a name combining the Account name and the Project name.
- Select the Author of the BOQ — usually the Architect or Planning Company. Current Participants of the Project are offered as options; if the Account isn’t a Participant yet, press New.
- Create the BOQ record. The flow suggests a name combining the Project name.
- Select the BOQ’s Language — together with the Template, this drives the automatically generated BOQ preview PDF.
- Select the Price Book, which both defines the standard price of products in the calculation and filters which products are shown.
- Define the BOQ content and the calculation.
- Choose whether to automatically create a Quote as a copy of the BOQ, or do nothing.
- If a Quote is created, select the Language and Template used to generate its PDF.
- If pricing should be handled externally, enable Use individual account pricing.
