Set Up Supply Chain

Taskadmin

Supply Chain is a graph-based view of how participants at different stakeholder levels — Building Owner, Architect/Planner, Processor/Contractor, Distributor, and Producer/Competitor — have interacted with each other across past projects. Sales reps use it to forecast how a current decision is likely to go, by seeing how the same companies have decided before. A black arrow between two accounts means a project where your product won; a red arrow means a competitor’s product won. It’s available from the Account (Insights tab), Participant (Report tab), and Project or Project Lead (Supply Chain tab).

The companion Stakeholder Map visualizes the same underlying data differently — connection strength (line thickness) between accounts and total volume won (node size) — and lives on the Project’s Stakeholders tab.

Add the components to record pages

  1. Add the Supply Chain component to the Project and Project Lead Lightning Record Pages via Lightning App Builder.
  2. Add the Stakeholder Map component to the Project Lightning Record Page.
  3. Confirm the running user has the Baucore permission set — it grants access to the Supply Chain Apex classes and the underlying Participant/Account fields the graph reads.

Configure the lookback window and size limits

SettingPurpose
supchaindays (BauCore_Settings__mdt)How many days back to look for closed projects when building the graph. Recommended default: 365 (one year) — this keeps the graph from being diluted by very old history.
SChain_PL (App_Settings__mdt)Maximum number of projects included, to avoid governor-limit issues on accounts with very large project portfolios.

Update supchaindays via the Supply Chain configuration panel in Baucore Setup, or directly through custom metadata if you’re scripting a bulk configuration change.

Marking competitor participants

A participant is rendered with a red (competitor) edge whenever Beteiligte__c.Competitor__c = true — meaning that participant used a competitor’s product on that project. Set this manually on the Participant record, or automate it with a Flow/Workflow Rule keyed off a Brand__c field or similar classification.

Configuring Stakeholder Map colours

Node colour on the Stakeholder Map comes from Account.Stakeholder_Color__c. Add the field to the Account page layout, then set it via a Flow or Workflow Rule based on your own customer classification (existing records can be bulk-updated with Data Loader or a scheduled Flow).

Why data quality here matters most

Both views are only as good as the win/loss data behind them — which comes entirely from the Tender Submission Process. The single most impactful thing you can do for Supply Chain accuracy is make sure reps consistently record Participant status (Won / Won for Competitor / Lost) before closing a Project — consider a validation rule requiring a result before a Project can close.
