Getting Started with Submission Process
Use the Project Decision to store information about which companies have been awarded a Project. That information is used across Baucore — in the Loyalty and Performance indicators, and in the Supply Chain graph — so recording it promptly and correctly matters beyond the Project record itself.
Selecting winners
Select the Accounts that won the Project for each role — Producer, Distributor, and Contractor — by checking the box shown on the Project Decision component. You can also record a Won/Lost reason on each Participant.
Which Accounts show up in each selection is automatic:
- Accounts marked as My Company, and Participants with Competitor set to true, appear in the Producer selection.
- Participants with Buyer set to true appear in the Distributor selection.
- Participants with Contractor (Processor) set to true appear in the Contractor selection.
You can also manually add an Account to any selection — Baucore automatically creates it as a Participant of the Project if it isn’t one already.
After making your changes, save either line by line (using the save icon at the end of each row) or all at once with the page-level save button.
What happens after you save
Saving the Project Decision triggers a cascade of updates:
- Project Status is set automatically: if one of the selected producers has My Company set to true, the Project becomes Closed-Won; if none of the selected producers is your own company, it becomes Closed-Lost.
- If the Project is Closed-Won, every Participant marked as a winner in the decision form — plus Participants in roles that are always treated as influencers (Architect, Planner, Building Owner) — gets Status = Won, whether or not they were explicitly checked.
- The reverse happens on Closed-Lost: those same Participants get Status = Won for Competitor.
- Every other Buyer or Contractor Participant who didn’t win gets Status = Lost, provided the producer is known.
See Participant Fields for Submission Process for the full explanation of what each checkbox and status value means.
Best practice
Winner information typically arrives asynchronously — usually the Contractor’s win is known first. As soon as that’s recorded, set an automatic reminder for the Account Owner of the Contractor to follow up, since that Account Owner is frequently not the same Sales Rep who owns the Project.
